The Salvation Army flag
The Army flag itself is not
sacred but is a symbol of the beliefs held by Salvationists. The
Army's motto 'Blood & Fire' is also inscribed on the flag.
The blue border represents the holiness of God. The red
background is a reminder of Jesus' blood shed on the cross that
all may live lives free from sin. The yellow star symbolises the
power of God's Holy Spirit.
The Salvation Army Stafford is a church in the Stafford
community. It is the result of a merger between the Albion and Mitchelton corps.

New song book for church
THE Salvation Army is to get a new song book.
The world leader of the church, General Shaw Clifton, has announced that work soon
is to begin on a new edition of
the book of songs the church uses in its worship services..
The current edition was published 23 years ago: "Since then, hundreds of new songs have become available for use in Salvation Army
worship," General Clifton said.
Salvationists are being given the opportunity to send in suggestions for songs to be retained and new
ones to be added.
